In 2025, we're launching a new range of routes that are perfect for leisure cyclists. Immerse yourself in nature and see all the sights as you explore a new corner of the UK on two wheels, with a range of flexible itineraries to choose from to suit your group's pace.
All four leisure routes benefit from a mix of tarmac, gravel and hard-packed paths that should suit any hybrid or gravel bicycle. While the Great Glen Way offers a real remote feel as it strikes coast to coast across the southern Highlands, the John Muir Way, Kennet and Avon Canal Ride and our own custom-built Peak District Leisure route promise a great combination of countryside and historic towns as they wind their way between great sight-seeing spots.
This year we're proud to offer mountain biking itineraries along the Pennine Bridleway, too, a more rugged, adventurous route that strikes north through the Pennines from the Peak District into the Yorkshire Moors.

A 73-mile ride along the Caledonian Canal and beyond
Explore the Great Glen Way on two wheels with this varied tour along the huge lochs that bisect the Scottish Highlands. The trail spans 75 miles between Inverness and Fort William, taking in lochside and highland views from a mix of tarmac, fire road and winding paths between welcoming Scottish villages. Taking two to three days to complete, the Great Glen Cycleway is a great leisurely ride for everyone to enjoy.
Helensburgh to Dunbar through Fife and Edinburgh
An ambling cycle tour through the Scottish countryside, the John Muir Way holiday combines coastal riding with stints through forest and the capital city of Edinburgh. Take the time to see the sights along this twining route between fascinating landmarks, and enjoy remarkably remote riding as you cross Scotland laterally from coast to coast.
98 miles from Reading to Bristol
The Kennet and Avon Canal Path explores pretty southern England from Reading to Bristol along riverbanks and canal towpaths. It's an approachable ride, relatively flat, that enjoys a mix of green countryside and characterful waterside towns full of history. Spot historic aqueducts, the Pewsey White Horse, old canal pumping stations and more.
A 160-mile circular cycle ride from Buxton
This leisure cycling route is a huge extension of our popular White Peak Leisure holiday. Beyond the quiet lanes and bridleways of the White Peak loop, which tours through historic towns and picturesque countryside, the Peak District Leisure trail follows the River Manifold on quiet tracks, circles Ladybower and Derwent reservoirs, visits the Peak District's famous gritstone edges and returns along the old Thornhill railway, now a traffic-free cyclepath.
Cromford to Ravenstonedale through the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales
National Trails have, in the past, been created with long-distance walkers in mind. The Pennine Bridleway is a first, built specifically for horse riders and cyclists alike. This remote, often rocky point-to-point route spans 175 miles through the Pennines, crossing from the Peak District into the Yorkshire Dales and enjoying classic mountain biking trails, views and tea rooms along the way.
