Peak District Leisure

This 160-mile leisure cycling holiday seeks out the most character-defining parts of the Peak District, from the region’s beautiful limestone landscapes to its historic towns and villages.

By weaving together the Tissington Trail, Monsal Trail, Manifold Trail and Thornhill Trail with two waterside stretches around Ladybower and Carsington Reservoir, the Peak District Leisure ride offers a wealth of traffic-free adventuring through leafy woodland and over patchwork fields, uncovering the area’s industrial past as it leads the way through old railway tunnels along decommissioned lines.

Following quiet roads, the Peak District’s famous gritstone edges feature, too, alongside a range of human history, from the majesty of Chatsworth House to the strength and dignity once displayed at Eyam, the plague village.

Which Bike?

Ride the Peak District Leisure holiday on a hybrid, gravel or hardtail mountain bike with tough tyres suitable for hardpacked and gravel surfaces.

The White Peak Alternative

The Peak District Leisure holiday is a comprehensive route around the Peaks on quiet roads and cyclepaths that should suit families, but if you’re on a tighter schedule or would prefer a shorter tour for little legs, check out our White Peak Leisure itineraries. This 2-3 day holiday keeps to the easier trails of the Peak District Leisure’s southern loop. Find out more about the White Peak Leisure route.
