Deferred Deposits and No Amendment Fees on New Bookings

Just like you, we have been closely following the news surrounding the Coronavirus outbreak, and while we are doing everything we can to support our existing customers, we want to give you something to look forward to in the future.

This is why we have decided to offer the following special measures: Any holiday booking made with Contours between now and the end of September will not require a deposit payment until 30th September. On top of this, you will not need to pay amendment fees for changes you may need to make up to four weeks before the start of your holiday. Please note that you will still need to provide your card details to place the booking, but you will not be charged.

This arrangement applies to any new holiday booking made between Friday 17th April and Wednesday 30th September 2020, with an end date up to 23rd December 2021. Book your holiday now with no commitment - giving you something special to look forward to without stressing your finances. Once you do pay, you've still got nothing to worry about, with the flexibility to postpone your tour further at no additional cost.

Once your holiday is booked, you can make up to three changes without incurring additional charges. This includes rescheduling your holiday to another time, adding or removing travellers, or extending/shortening your break etc. Amendment fees are usually £50 per person for each change made, but this charge will be waived under this condition.

As always, all of our holidays are subject to our usual Booking Conditions - remember that the full balance of your holiday must be paid six weeks prior to your holiday's start date, as usual.

Please also note that we are fully protected by our IPP insurance, meaning your money is safe, whatever happens (see section 17 of our Booking Conditions).

Terms & Conditions

  1. To be eligible for the above promotion, you must book any Contours Walking, Trail Running or Cycling Holiday between 17th April and 30th September 2020.
  2. When choosing the start date of your holiday, you should take into account that we are not able to provide holidays that would breach the current UK government-issued lockdown or otherwise be considered too much of a risk to public safety, or too difficult to provide due to other restrictions or limitations. This will be updated as the situation changes – please see our Coronavirus page for more information. Aside from this, the promotion covers any holiday ending on or before 23rd December 2021.
  3. Once you have booked your holiday during the timeframe specified in point 1, you will not need to pay your deposit until 30th September 2020, or six weeks prior to the start of your holiday, whichever is sooner. Your deposit payment will then be requested and should be paid promptly. Any holiday arrangements cannot be formally booked until the full deposit is received. Note that if your deposit is due six weeks prior to your holiday commencement, the full balance of your holiday will be payable at the same time in line with our usual Booking Conditions.
  4. Once your holiday is booked and the deposit received, this promotion allows you to then make up to three changes to your booking as required, without incurring our usual amendment fee of £50 per person on the booking, per change made. This includes changes such as rescheduling the start date of the holiday, adding or removing travellers, or changing the duration of the holiday. This promotion does not cover requests to change the holiday trail or location.
  5. Please note that if the changes you make cause the overall cost of your holiday to increase, the difference in the balance must be paid as usual. Should the changes result in a decrease in the overall cost, you will be reimbursed the difference in the form of a credit note to be used against a future booking.
  6. If you cancel your holiday before the deposit is paid, you will incur no penalty. Once the deposit is paid, all holidays are subject to our normal cancellation policy (section 4 of our Booking Conditions).
  7. This promotion cannot be claimed in conjunction with any other discount or special offer. Contours Holidays retain the right to amend or withdraw this promotion at any time. All of our holidays are subject to our usual Booking Conditions aside from the special measures detailed above.
